A Model February for MADMUN

This month saw Madeira's Model UN (MUN) team taking on two conferences in back-to-back weekends. The team traveled to American University in Washington, DC, to attend the AmeriMUNC conference. This year’s conference simulation focused on the region of Europe, with students taking on the identities of world leaders and modeling crisis scenarios. Participating in Model UN helps students refine research, public speaking, and leadership skills. 

These skills benefit students long after they leave Madeira, as they go on to obtain leadership roles in college, prestigious job placements, meaningful volunteer roles, and more.

The following weekend, students and their mentors traveled to Dupont Circle to participate in NAIMUN, the largest student-run Model United Nations conference in the world. The theme for this year's conference? Innovate, Implement, Inspire.
