Madeira faculty positions involve teaching a full class load and serving in other capacities such as advising, leading school activities, and participating in residential life. Specifically, we seek resumes from experienced teachers who:

- have both content area expertise and expertise in student-oriented learning and student-oriented pedagogy
- enjoy working collaboratively with other colleagues

In addition to meaningful and rewarding work, Madeira provides a rich benefits package including medical, dental, life, long term disability, 403 (b) program, and generous paid time off.
Madeira is pleased to offer a variety of employee benefits.
Employees who work at least 20 hours per week/1000 hours per year are eligible for benefits. (Seasonal and temporary employees are not eligible for benefits.) Benefits begin the first of the month following the month of employment.
Below is a general summary, but please note that the plan document governs all elements of the plan. Further, the Madeira School reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to make changes to (including the elimination of) benefits. Health
The Madeira School currently offers two different insurance options through CareFirst Administrators: a PPO plan and an HDHP/HSA plan. Eligible employees may enroll themselves and their family members in accordance with the plan. Employees pay for their portion of the premium through payroll deduction.
Flexible Spending
Eligible employees may enroll in the section 125 flexible spending account in order to use pre-tax money to use for medical and/or dependent care expenses. Please note that if an employee enrolls in the HDHP/HSA plan, the employee may not participate in the medical portion of the flexible spending plan.
Dental
The School offers a dental program through Guardian. Eligible employees may enroll themselves and their family members in accordance with the plan. Employees pay for their portion of the premium through payroll deduction.
Life and AD&D
The Madeira School will provide $50,000 of group term life insurance to each full time employee in addition to AD&D insurance. This is at no cost to the employee. Eligible employees may purchase supplemental life and AD&D for themselves and their family members in accordance with the plan. The employee pays for the cost of this plan through payroll deduction.
Short- and Long-Term Disability
The Madeira School automatically enrolls eligible employees in the applicable short term disability program and long-term disability program through Guardian. Employees enrolled the long-term disability program may also access the Guardian EAP for counseling and guidance on a variety of personal and financial issues.
403(b) Retirement Plan
Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the 403(b) retirement plan at a rate of 3% on the first of the month following the month of employment. Employees may make changes to this rate at any time. All deferrals are completed through payroll deduction. In addition, the Madeira School will also make a contribution to the employee’s account. The employer contribution may reach a maximum of 6% of the employee’s compensation. The employer contribution is subject to a three-year vesting schedule.
Legal Resources
Eligible employees may participate in the legal resources program. This is a third-party program providing legal assistance. Some services are covered by the premium; other services are provided at an additional charge. Employees pay for the premium through payroll deduction.
Professional Development
Employees are encouraged to continue their professional development and advancement. Employees are able to apply for funds which can be used for workshops, conferences and a variety of other development activities.
Camp Greenway
The Madeira School offers a summer programing for boys and girls. The School may offer a discount for the children of employees; such benefits are determined on a year by year basis.
