In the Greenway Internship Program, participants are prepared for the actual process of becoming a Madeira Camps summer staffer through on-the-job training and unique camp experiences!
The internship program is a tuition-based camper experience for rising 10th grade students. All participants are required to complete GIP I, and those eager to take the next step are encouraged to apply for GIP II. Learn more about each program below.
Why GIP?
Sessions, Dates, and Costs
GIP I is offered twice throughout the summer. GIP II is only offered once. To participate in GIP II, interns MUST complete GIP I.
| Session | Start Date | End Date | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| GIP I Session 1 | July 6 | July 17 | $750 |
| GIP I Session 2 | July 20 | July 31 | $750 |
| GIP II | July 20 | July 31 | $750 |
Important Information
To be considered, interns need to commit to the virtual pre-season training date and at least one full two-week session during the four weeks we are offering the program (see above for dates). It is recommended that interns participate in both consecutive sessions (GIP I and GIP II) to have a more enriching experience.
Please keep in mind that interns are not technically staff and will not be responsible for supervising campers on their own. Interns will receive continuous feedback from the Internship Program Coordinator throughout their time at camp and will participate in a formal evaluation and exit interview at the end of their commitment. This experience can give interns a significant edge the following year should they choose to apply for a Junior Counselor position; however, completing the internship program does not guarantee future employment at Camp Greenway.
