Start of the school year message from the 2019-2020 Parents' Association President Kara Bell P'21,'23.
Dear Madeira Families,
It is hard to believe that summer is drawing to a close and fall is upon us. My daughters have spent the last few weeks finishing summer requirements for Madeira and enjoying the last few days to sleep in uninterrupted. They are excited to begin another year in the 113-year-old tradition of educating women who change the world. The Parents’ Association Leadership Council (PALC) and I are delighted to start another school year by welcoming our returning and new girls and their families!
I am truly honored to work with a group of talented, diverse and dedicated parents in my role as President of the 2019-2020 Madeira Parents’ Association (PA). The PA exists to facilitate communication between Madeira and parents and to promote parental involvement. All parents and guardians are automatically members of the PA, no sign ups, no dues.
Madeira publishes is a bi-weekly email newsletter full of information about upcoming events on campus and ways to stay involved. It will be your go-to resource for the latest happenings at Madeira.
I encourage all of you to join me in becoming involved in the events and activities we have planned for this year. Every job is important and there is something for everyone – from tasks as setting up Prom or helping with equestrian events, to organizing sign-ups for athletic team snacks or musical set builds. Our international and out of town parents can also volunteer to send items via “Amazon.com” and working admissions events in their hometowns. We are all part of the Madeira family no matter how close or far away from the campus. We share a common interest to promote the well-being of our daughters and their school.
Please take a moment to visit the “Ways to Volunteer” page on the Madeira website to get started. Whatever level of participation you choose, your time, energy, and involvement will be greatly appreciated!
I look forward to meeting and getting to know you. Please reach out to me during the year with questions and comments. Together our Madeira family will make 2019-2020 a great year.
