Who done it? Science meets literature

January 4, 2016

At the end of Module 3, Ms.Heishman’s Gothic Literature and Dr. Boyette’s Forensic Science classes combined forces to solve two cold cases related to Edgar Allan Poe.

Students poured over evidence files, lifted fingerprints, evaluated handwriting samples, measured shoe prints, and dug up and analyzed skeletal remains in search of the truth related to Poe’s death, a real-life unsolved death, and one of Poe’s classic works, The Cask of Amontillado

At the end of the project, students presented their theories, supported them with evidence, and discussed each case in depth with the rest of their classmates.
