The swim and dive team has been off to an impressive start with wins at home against Georgetown Day School and Sidwell Friends, and on the road at the Woodberry Opening Invitational over Trinity Episcopal and Norfolk Academy.

“We are off to one of the best starts in the last five years," said Coach Rod Montrie. "Our top swimmers are going really fast for this early in the season and our ‘B’ relays are some of the best we have ever had. I am especially pleased with our freshman class with Maddie Heilbrun and Giovi Moriarty leading the way.”

Several swimmers have also found success with their club teams early in the season. Junior Kylie Jordan made finales in all six of her events, posting all personal best times, at Junior Internationals held in Ontario, Canada the weekend of December 5-7. She brought home three gold medals (200 Meter Butterfly, 200 Meter Medley Relay, 200 Meter Free Relay) and one bronze in the 100 Meter Butterfly. The gold medals were for the 200 Meter Butterfly (2:11.20). the Mixed 200 Meter Medley Relay and the Mixed 200 Meter Free Relay. Kyle and team Farrin Saba '15, also swam at the highly competitive Tom Dolan Invitational.

The varsity swim and dive team looks to continue their success after the Winter Break at Georgetown Prep swimming against National Cathedral School and Holy Cross on January 7, 4:00 p.m.
