On April 24, 2015, as representatives of the CLIPUS Foundation Katharine Jiang '15, Virginia Zhang '15, and Grace Huang '16 attended the 23rd Annual Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards. The CLIPUS Foundation was nominated in the Youth Volunteer Group category by Ms. Sherry Noud, a social worker for FCPS. It was an amazing and meaningful experience where dozens of inspirational speakers shared their stories and emphasized the importance of giving back. “The best part was being able to celebrate groups and individuals who have dedicated so much of their time to helping improve the communities around them and the world,” reflected Grace.

The CLIPUS representatives met and spoke with potential partners and supporters for the 2015-2016 school year. One of the most exciting moments was when Mr. Ilryong Moon, an at large FCPS board member, sat at the same table as CLIPUS. Although CLIPUS did not win, the students were ahppy to have been able to meet with like-minded and passionate people.

CLIPUS Foundation was founded by Katharine Jiang '15 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping local children in need gain a more meaningful education by distributing schools supplies to those needy students. Please visit www.clipusfoundation.org for more information.
