Snails take fourth at ISL swim and dive championship meet

The Madeira varsity swim and dive team captured fourth place at the 2014 ISL championship meet held Friday evening at Holton Arms.

Kylie Jordan ’16 won the 200 Individual Medley and took second place in the 100 Butterfly. Kylie was named to the 2014 ISL All-League team.

Other Madeira girls scoring in the top 12 were:  Carly Yosaitis ’15 (2nd 1 meter diving) Ramsey Aldrich ’15 (7th 1 meter diving) Jacqueline Beaulieu ‘15 (9th 1 meter diving) Michaela Saunders ’14 (5th 200 Freestyle, 5th 100 Butterfly) Farrin Saba ‘15 (6th 50 Freestyle, 5th 100 Backstroke) Romi Gould ’17 (8th 100 Butterfly, 12th 500 Freestyle) Stephanie Royer ’15 (9th 500 Freestyle, 11th 200 Freestyle)  

All three Madeira relays also scored: 200 Medley relay (Jackie Tidd’16, Nora Canellakis’16, Saunders, Royer: 11th) 200 Freestyle relay (Saba, Gould, Royer, Jordan:  3rd) and 400 Freestyle relay (Saba, Saunders, Gould, Jordan: 3rd)

“We swam a great meet against strong competition tonight,” said Madeira coach Rod Montrie. “Stephanie Royer, Michaela Saunders, Marina Pearce, and Carly Yosaitis all had great meets. Kylie continues to dominate and our B relays continue to improve”

Madeira’s next meet is at home on Tuesday, 1/28 vs. Holy Child.
