Mary Faith Everman ’20 has been awarded an American Foreign Service Association Merit Scholarship for Best Essay.
Participants were required to write an essay identifying their most memorable foreign service experience. Mary Faith's essay was chosen out of 95 entrants as the best. She was awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
Mary Faith will be recognized for her achievement at the Annual Merit Awards Ceremony and Reception on August 20 at the State Department’s George Marshall Center.
The AFSA Scholarship Program offers college aid to children of AFSA members whose parents are/were Foreign Service employees. The AFSA provides financial aid scholarships to undergraduates and academic merit awards, art merit awards, and a community service award to graduating high school seniors.
Mary Faith will be attending Virginia Commonwealth University next September to study cinema and marketing.
