Madeira's IEA team continues their winning streak

December 18, 2014

On Sunday, December 14, Madeira's IEA team competed at the Garrison Forest School in Baltimore, MD against 13 teams – Madeira's largest show to date! The team tied Oldfields with 35 points, and after the tiebreaker Madeira ended up finishing in second. This continues the team's streak of winning champion or reserve champion at every show this season. Numerous girls also qualified individually for the regional finals hosted in March, including novice riders Emily Leins '17 and Rachel Michael '16.

Congratulations to Carter Ware '16 for winning both of her classes in the Junior Varsity Beginner and Karina Atkins '18 for winning first and second in her classes in the Junior Varsity Beginner.

Director of Equestrian Programs, Ian McCartney has been very pleased with the team's performance this year stating, “I couldn’t be more happy or proud of the results this team has achieved so far this year. It is a strong testament to all the hard work put in by Coach Leonardi and our students. I am excited to see what the new year brings when our season picks up again on January 3rd and 4th at Pickwick Stables."
