Madeira Theatre presents "Arsenic and Old Lace"

October 18, 2013

You’ll be thoroughly entertained by the wit and talented acting of the Madeira cast in the farcical comedy, “Arsenic and Old Lace.” The play is set in the 1940’s, revolving around the eccentric Brewster family. Aunts Martha and Abby seem like typical spinsters, but with the help of their nephew Teddy (who believes himself to be Teddy Roosevelt) they hide a dark secret in their Brooklyn basement. When cousin Mortimer uncovers the aunt’s misdeeds he must protect them. But his plans are complicated when his murderous brother comes to call with his personal plastic surgeon and a brand new face. Mortimer’s fiancée, future father-in-law, and a crew of clueless cops round out this ensemble cast for a darkly hilarious play in three acts.
