Madeira students participate in community service

December 16, 2015

Over the December 11th weekend, Madeira students dedicated their time to service activities coordinated by the Heads of Community Service. Students volunteered to lay wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery with the organization Wreaths Across America. They supported the mission of the organization which is to "Remember, Honor, and Teach". Their mission is implemented by "coordinating wreath laying ceremonies at Arlington, as well as veterans’ cemeteries in all 50 states".

Additionally, Madeira students volunteered at Sunrise Senior Care Home in McLean. Glee graced the seniors by singing winter songs. After the performance, students talked, played winter games, and created arts and crafts.

Overall, both service events were successful. As Madeira students volunteered this weekend, they exhibited their support to the wider community and exemplified their dedication to service.
