Madeira clarinetist wins second place at Asian American Music Society

Madeira Chamber Orchestra member Lucy Li '18, won second place in the senior woodwind division of the Asian American Music Society Competition. Lucy, a boarding student from Clifton, VA participated in the international competition on Sunday, October 25, in Bethesda, MD.

The Asian American Music Society's International Competition is a unique competition for Elementary, Middle and High School Students and is open to everyone, not only Asians or Americans. Divisions are based on grade level and participants are encouraged to perform works by Asian composers. First place winners received a small scholarship and the opportunity to participate in a concert at the Kennedy Center on their Millennium Stage.
