Alumna Julia Collins returns to battle for a $250,000 grand prize with 13 other former champions in the Tournament of Champions, beginning Monday, November 10.
The two-week event showcases the most successful contestants from the past two seasons, including two of the most talked-about contestants Julia and Arthur Chu. In June of this year, Julia captured the nation’s attention by becoming the first woman in JEOPARDY! history to win 20 games, a streak that places her second on the all-time consecutive wins list; only Ken Jennings (74 games) has won more games than she has. Arthur Chu generated headlines last spring with his controversial playing style, using the “Forrest Bounce” technique instead of running through a category in order. He won 11 games, placing him fourth on the all-time consecutive wins list.
“Collectively, the 15 players returning for the Tournament of Champions have won 100 games, which illustrates the high level of competition viewers should expect from this year’s tournament,” said JEOPARDY! host Alex Trebek. “With so many bright, successful contestants in the mix, it’s nearly impossible to predict a winner, so you’ll have to watch to see who comes out on top.”Alumnae Leadership
