Join Madeira Arts for the annual winter musical

February 12, 2016

Madeira's dedicated students and faculty are working very hard to produce a crowd-pleasing rendition of Kiss Me, Kate. Written in the 1940's, Kiss Me, Kate is a timeless and fun musical by Samuel and Bella Speck, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter. The story involves the production of a musical version of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, and the conflict on- and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show's director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi. A secondary romance concerns Lois Lane, the actress playing Bianca, and her gambler boyfriend, Bill, who runs afoul of some gangsters. To mix things up even more, Director Krista Cowan decided to set our show in the 1980’s!

Show dates are February 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and February 20 at 1:00 p.m.

Tickets for non-Madeira students are $5 and tickets for adults are $10. Kiss Me, Kate is an exciting, classic, fun, and entertaining show about love, theater, Shakespeare and much more! Come support Madeira Arts!
