Get ready for International Week

January 26-30, the Madeira Student Ambassadors will host a variety of activities celebrating International Week. Made up of current students from around the world, the ambassadors offer knowledge and comfort to Madeira’s new international students. International Week allows the ambassadors to showcase the diversity of Madeira’s student body, as well as the opportunity to learn about new countries and cultures.
Each day of the week will have a special event aimed at educating and entertaining the Madeira community.
- Monday: Food Day
During lunch students will be offered a variety of international meal choices and desserts
- Tuesday: Visual Art Day
Artwork showcasing international artists will be presented in the student center.
- Wednesday: Performing Art Day
The ambassadors will host the weekly community dinner which will include a traditional dance performance and a fashion show
- Thursday: History Day
- Students are encouraged to wear traditional attire that celebrates their nationality. The digital signage around campus will play a slide show that features famous cities around the world. In addition, a flyer representing a history of the various nationalities will be on display in the dining hall.
- Friday: Game Day
During lunch Madeira’s culture clubs will teach students how to play different traditional games
During the week traditional dishes from China, France, Italy, Korea, Thailand, and Japan will be offered in the dining hall.
