June 1, 2015
Mr. Sharp was presented with a Superman cape and the endowed chair

Friday, May 22, 2015 members of the Madeira community gathered to celebrate the close of another school year, recognize faculty and staff members for their service, honor the class of 2015, and award several Madeira community awards, including the Virginia Peddle Community Service Award and PINK Award.

Mr. Andy Cai, who is retiring after 21 years of teaching at Madeira, is the recipient of the 2015 Virginia Peddle Community Service Award. Always there to give encouragement or make a joke, Mr. Cai is a beloved member of the Madeira faculty. He has taught both math and Chinese and has served as a mentor for many international students. The PINK Award was given to Anne Forrest Butler '18. Head of the History Department, Mr. Andrew Sharp was selected as the 2015 endowed chair. The senior class dedicated the 2014-2015 yearbook to Mahaile Tesfai, who works with the Sodexo dining hall staff. The yearbook dedication reads, "Among her many roles, she always has a smile on her face and kind words to say to us to lift our spirits."
