The Madeira community joined in-person and virtually on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 to celebrate the successful completion of another school year.
At Closing Convocation, community members celebrate achievements by faculty, staff, and students, and bid farewell to those leaving Madeira.
After remarks from Head of School Gretchen Warner and Dean of Students Kim Newsome, the student government leadership for 2020-2021 was installed.
Four-year athletes, thespians, and dancers were recognized and the Peddle Community Service Award, presented by Assistant Head of School, Andre Withers, was presented to Peggy Sotos, Director of Nursing.
This year’s yearbook dedication, chosen by the students, was to History teacher Shields Sundberg.
Following Closing Convocation, students received their yearbooks and enjoyed the traditional strawberries and cream on the Oval.
