Athletic Recap: 10/2-10/13

Equestrian:
10/12/2018 – Turner Farms:
Eliza ‘20 placed well in the VHSA Working Hunters and put in solid trips in the Schooling Hunters, Kelly ‘19 also did a great job in the Schooling and in the VHSA working hunters.  Chloe ‘22, Hannah '22, and Maya ’22 placed well in the Low hunters and in the Turner Farm Eq, with Maya winning grand champion in the Turner Farm Eq.  Community riders Irene, Sage and Lisa also placed well in the schooling hunter and the VHSA working.

10/13/2018 – Meadowbrook:
Samira ‘19 placed highly in the hopeful jumpers, Ava ‘19 won grand champion in the Child/Adult jumpers, and Ella '21 won grand champion in the hopeful hunters!

Varsity Tennis:
10/10/2018 – Snails defeat St. Andrew’s 5-2:
The team came prepared and worked marvelously on the targets focused on in practice. Our number #1 Singles, Liya, and our #2 Singles, Holly, put up terrific fights. They came up just short at 3-10 and 8-10 respectively. Singles three and four, played by Reilly and Vicky, were very strong. Both girls pushed the ball well and finished 10-3 and 10-1. #1 Doubles, played by Aves and Bella, were treated to a surprising default victory. Meanwhile, #2 Doubles team of Lily M. and Lily S. dominated at the net, convincingly winning 10-1. Last but definitely not least, #3 Doubles team of Caroline and Emma pulled out an impressive 11-9 win.

10/12/2018 – Snails defeat GDS 5-2:
#1 Singles – Liya Savasman lost 4-10
#2 Singles – Holly Crowley won 11-9
#3 Singles – Reilly O’Flagherty won 10-4
#4 Singles – Vicky Yang won by default
#1 Aves Doubles – Aves Mocek and Bella Simmons lost 8-10
#2 Doubles – Lily Mackney and Lily Simmons won 10-6
#3 Doubles – Carolyn Keen and Emma Stone won 11-9

JV Tennis:
10/10/2018 – Snails defeat St. Andrew’s 4-3:
#1 Singles – Helen Wang lost 0-8
#2 Singles – Margot Matheson won 8-3
#3 Singles – Suhani Malhotra won 8-3
#4 Singles – Jordan Kallett lost 4-8
#1 Doubles – Nat Galvan-Duque Aranaz and Emily Bell won 8-3
#2 Doubles – Katie Joiner and Katie Fifield won 8-6
#3 Doubles Moniola Odunsi and Amy Xie lost 2-8
Exhibition Doubles – Cassie Gerard and Nat Galvan-Duque Aranaz won 6-0
