Madeira Arts Council's annual trip to New York City was a great day-long adventure for 50 Madeira students and faculty on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Students enjoyed shopping, sight-seeing, and photo opportunities in mid-town Manhattan, while exploring their passions in musical theater and visual arts.
Some of the students spent their day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, while others saw "Chicago" performed at the Ambassador Theater. Some of the theater-goers learned about the life of Broadway performers from Aaron Galligan-Stierle, a recent cast member of "Phantom of the Opera," and heard him perform for them in a Broadway rehearsal studio. Anna Bradley ’14 and Jody Baik ’14 sang for Mr. Galligan-Stierle who coached them in master class setting.
Students who love the arts -- whether as performer, audience member, or to deepen their understanding of their art history –- enjoyed a great big bite of the Big Apple. Watch the video slideshow >>Arts
