AP Exam results announced

August 2, 2016

In May 2016, 164 Madeira students took 290 AP exams in 22 different subjects. This represents an increase of 16 students taking AP exams from May 2015. As usual, the students did well; of the 164 students, 142 earned scores of 3 or more on their exams. Fifty-four Madeira students earned AP Scholar designation -- 27 AP Scholars (earned 3 or above on 3 or more AP exams); 11 AP Scholar with Honor designation (earned an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or above on 4 or more AP exams); and 16 AP Scholar with Distinction designation (earned score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or more on 5 or more exams). The Madeira School earned a 91.4% Equity and Excellence rating from the College Board, which reflects “the number of Madeira seniors who scored 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam at any point during high school divided by the total number of the school’s seniors” and allows a school “a means to assess both the equity and excellence of your school’s AP program.” Congratulations, scholars and teachers!
