Thank you for your interest in The Madeira School. We are excited that you are exploring Madeira as one of your high school options. If you have not already done so, your inquiry would be a great first step to learning more about what our school and community have to offer. We hope that what you learn about us, motivates you to take the next step and apply. Below is additional information about the application process for an applicant applying from China.
Application Process and Timeline:
Due to growing demand and number of qualified applicants from China each year, The Madeira School Admissions Office has developed an application process in order to better serve the families of our applicants and our office.
The application process consists of the following four items:
Applicants can apply online using the Standard Application Online.
In order to provide an equal opportunity for all Chinese applicants interested in Madeira we have partnered with Vericant. Vericant will conduct preliminary interviews and short writing samples with our applicants in Mainland China. Vericant does not evaluate candidates but, instead, sends the interview videos to us for the Madeira admission team to review.
Please note that your application fee to Madeira does not include the Vericant interview costs.
3. Official SSAT and TOEFL Score Reports:
All applicants must submit an official SSAT and TOEFL iBT test report. The Madeira test code for the SSAT is 4768 and the Madeira test code for the TOEFL is 8029. Please note that all reports must be sent to us directly from SSAT and TOEFL to be considered official.
4. Interviews and Campus Visits:
You can schedule a visit to our campus here. Campus visits include a campus tour and class visit. If you are unable to visit campus in person, our office will arrange an interview with you via Skype or Zoom after the completed Standard Application Online, Vericant Interview and testing have been submitted and evaluated.
Again, thank you for considering Madeira. Please be sure to visit our website at www.madeira.org often for updated information on academic and social events taking place at Madeira. I look forward to learning more about you over the course of the application process.
