Visual Arts

The Visual Arts program at Madeira is committed to offering a better understanding of the world and of self through the study of art.

Courses offered include drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, and art history. In the art history course, appreciation for the creative act and an understanding of visual expression is fostered. In all courses, students are exposed to a wide variety of styles and media through guest artists and field trips to Washington-area galleries, museums, and art centers, as well as slides and films.
