Ms. Williams, a Madeira alumna, returned to serve as director of alumnae relations in 2008. She earned a bachelor's degree from Simmons College. Ms. Williams has years of fundraising and special event experience. She held chapter, regional, and national fundraising positions with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; worked in the Special Events department at the High Museum of Art; and volunteered to organize her Madeira 25-year reunion.
Elizabeth Mellen joined the development office in June 2016 as assistant director of alumnae and parent relations. Prior to coming to Madeira, Elizabeth worked in development at The George Washington University. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia.
Valerie Proudfoot joined the Development Office in July 2014 as special events coordinator. Prior to coming to Madeira, she was the marketing and communications assistant at The Community Foundation of Frederick County, MD, where among her many tasks she developed and coordinated special events. Ms. Proudfoot attended Hood College and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Communications. She was a board member and ADDY co-chairwoman for the American Advertising Federation of Greater Frederick, and assisted in the planning of the American Advertising Awards, the largest competition and event within ADDY. In her free time, she is a snowboard instructor at Liberty Mountain during the winter months teaching students of all ages. Ms. Proudfoot is looking forward to working creating fun and exciting events for the Madeira community at large.
