The Madeira School is looking for girls with curiosity, energy, integrity, and a commitment to academic and personal growth.

Entrance is determined by application, recommendations, interviews, and testing. Overall, we seek to admit students who can succeed academically and be contributing members of our community.  We are looking for girls who are well-suited to Madeira’s mission and challenges.

The Process

Candidates for admission need to complete their admission files and submit them with the nonrefundable application fee of $50 for domestic applicants and $120 for international applicants by January 31 to be considered for our early March notification date. Those who apply after that date are considered under a rolling admission policy. When an applicant's file is complete, it will go before the Admission Committee. A candidate for admission may apply to be either a boarding or day student. This status is expected to remain the same during her years at Madeira; changes are granted only under unusual circumstances. Candidates are encouraged to discuss these options with the Admission Office prior to completing an application.

The following must be completed for admissions consideration:   Hide All

Interviews may be scheduled during the week between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.; visits are not scheduled for Wednesdays because most students are off campus at their Co-Curriculum placements. Appointments should be made in advance, and visits usually last about three hours. Candidates and their parents are given a tour by a student guide and then talk with an admissions officer.

Most families tour the campus with a Student Admission Representative (STAR) and interview on the same day. Telephone interviews can be arranged for those who cannot visit the School due to distance or other factors.
