Audio: All-School Meeting, Veteran's Day

Colonel Brooke Myers ’77 has been with the United States Army for 23 years and is the first Madeira girl to graduate from West Point. She graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York as a member of the Class of 1983 (the fourth class of women to graduate). In 2004, Col. Myers was reassigned to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management. She currently is on the staff of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the Pentagon as the Chief of Contingency Operations, overseeing the funding for training and equipping both the Iraq and Afghanistan Security Forces. Currently between tours of duty, she addressed the campus for the annual Veteran's Day ASM on Thursday, November 8. (Running time: 56:51)

Mika Brzezinski is an MSNBC anchor, who also reports on “NBC Nightly News” and as an alternating news anchor for “Weekend Today.” Prior to joining MSNBC in January 2007, Brzezinski was an anchor of the “CBS Evening News Weekend Edition” and a contributing correspondent for “CBS Sunday Morning” and “60 Minutes.” She addressed the Madeira community during Parents’ Weekend in October 2007. Pilar Frank O’Leary ’87 works as Director of the Smithsonian Center for Latino Initiatives. She is responsible for fulfilling the Center’s mission of fostering understanding and appreciation of Latino history and culture using the vast resources of the Smithsonian’s museums and collections.
